All The Best People Are opens with Allie on the floor and a sugar ant passing by her, carrying a crumb nearly triple its size. It bumps into Allie's hand, pauses, then veers off

"in search of an easier route." Clearly, Allie relates all too well with the ant's burden. What is Allie carrying that's too big for her? Throughout the book, does she ever choose an easier route? By the end of the book, is she able to unburden herself? Or does she just learn to carry it differently? If you could relate to an insect or animal, what would it be?
